Eagles | Detmer Expected to Return for Season Opener
Updating previous reports, Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles QB Koy Detmer (knee) was scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Tuesday, Aug. 10. Detmer, who is expected to be ready for the Sept. 12, regular season opener against the New York Giants, has been experiencing discomfort when throwing the football. "We felt it was best for him to get it done before we get into the season," Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder said of Detmer. "He'll probably miss a couple of weeks. We'll see how he does after the first week and then give an update."
