Patriots | Stubblefield Excited to Play for Belichick in 3-4 Defense
Kevin Mannix, of the Boston Herald, reports New England Patriots DT Dana Stubblefield decided to join the team after hearing a positive report about head coach Bill Belichick's treatment of players. "The big thing for me is that I had to determine where I fit in best,'' Stubblefield said. "I liked the idea of playing here because I knew I could trust Belichick. I had spoken with friends of mine who had all played for Belichick before and they all told me that he was a man of his word. That's what I was looking for." Stubblefield said after being exposed to the 3-4 defense last season in Oakland, he will have no problems with it in New England. "At first I didn't think I was going to like it because they had me playing both inside and outside,'' Stubblefield said. "but after being a part of it, I loved it.''
