Padres | Prospect Bozied Out for Year with Knee Injury
Ben Walker, of the Associated Press, reports San Diego Padres minor league OF prospect Tagg Bozied (knee) is out for the remainder of the season after rupturing a tendon in his knee. The injury occurred when Bozied jumped high at home plate after hitting a game-winning grand slam to help lead Triple-A Portland to victory. "It was real scary," said Bozied. "I saw my kneecap pushed up into my quadriceps." Bozied was expected to return to San Diego and have an MRI exam performed Wednesday, July 21, with surgery likely this week. He will be out of action for six months, but should be ready for spring training.
