Patriots | Weis Addresses Contract Situation
Michael Smith, of the Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis's agent, Bob Lamonte, said last month that he and head coach Bill Belichick had been unable to come to terms on a contract extension. Lamonte added that this would be Weis's last year in New England. "People are saying that Bill is [upset] at me, I'm [angry] at Bill," said Weis, who addressed the issue Wednesday, June 9. "But I'm here to say three things: I'm under contract, I understand the parameters, and I'm not an unhappy camper, contrary to popular opinion. All I want is to help us win again. The way things are being painted, it looks like I'm unhappy, that I think this is unfair, and that I'm not concerned about us winning. All three of those things are erroneous."
