Ravens | Fassel Wants Collins, But It’s Out of His Hands
According to ESPN.com, Baltimore Ravens senior consultant Jim Fassel would love for the Ravens to bring in free agent QB Kerry Collins, but concedes the situation is unlikely since the team is trying to develop second-year QB Kyle Boller. "The problem that I have in Baltimore is that I'm only a consultant. They have a commitment to Kyle Boller," Fassel told ESPN Radio Sunday, May 2. "Is there an opportunity for him in Baltimore there? No, because a lot of teams make their commitment. And you can't commit to two at that position. Being released at this late time, every team thinks they've got their guy, and it's hard to incorporate another guy. But Kerry Collins will resurface with another team, and he will take another team to the Super Bowl," he said. Fassel served as head coach for the New York Giants when Collins led the team to its last Super Bowl appearance in 2001.
