Broncos | Jackson Changes Mind, Agrees To Try Switch At Safety
The Rocky Mountain News reports Denver Broncos QB Jarious Jackson initially had rejected at the suggestion of playing defense at the safety position and had thought of the idea of playing quarterback in the Canadian Football League. However, after a lengthy discussion with Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan, Jackson has agreed to give the safety position a try, at least through mini-camps. The Broncos believe Jackson has the speed and athleticism to play the free safety position. "I told him that I thought just giving him a chance to play defensive back might keep him in the game for a while, so he's going to take a look at it over the next month or two and if he feels he has a chance to compete, then he'll be here," Shanahan said. "If not, then I'll let him go."
