Marlins | Grievance Filed On Banks
Updating an ongoing story, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Juan Rodriguez is reporting the Major League Baseball Players Association filed a grievance against the Florida Marlins regarding their release of OF Brian Banks. The Marlins cut Banks on March 31, two days after am MRI revealed loose bodies in Banks' right knee. The collective bargaining agreement holds teams responsible for a player's full salary if he is unable to perform due to injury suffered "within the scope of his employment under the contract."
