Mets | Vaughn Retiring... Sort Of

The Associated Press is reporting New York Mets 1B Mo Vaughn (knee) has all but announced his retirement from baseball, breaking the news Friday to a group of Brockton Rox supporters at a team banquet. "I'm through, man, I'm through," Vaughn said to the supporters. "My career is over. I have an injury no doctor can fix, but I have no regrets." Vaughn has not officially filed for retirement, because he is owed $15 million by the Mets and the team is insured for all but $3.75 million of that amount by keeping him on the disabled list.
