Jets | Szott Injured, Awaiting MRI Results
Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets OLG Dave Szott (knee) was the only Jets player injured in the Saturday, Dec. 20, game against the New England Patriots. Szott suffered a left knee strain midway through the fourth quarter when Patriots 365-pound NT Ted Washington, trying to tackle Jets RB Curtis Martin, landed on Szott's left knee. Szott played two more plays, then spent the final eight-play drive on the bench, the only plays he's missed this season. Szott underwent an MRI but the team has not released any information on the condition of the knee as of the evening of Monday, Dec. 22. Szott wears a brace on his right knee, which needed reconstructive surgery in June 2002.
