Vikings | Practice Stresses Fundamentals
Bill Williamson, of the Pioneer Press, reports the Minnesota Vikings, in hopes of solving their recent defensive woes, went back to the basics in Thursday's, Nov. 13, practice. Rather than working as a full unit, the defense split up and worked in position groups, much like they would in training camp. "We wanted to go back to the basics," defensive coordinator George O'Leary said. "Sometimes you have to take a step backwards and work on the fundamentals. That's where we are." Over the last three games, the Vikings have given up an average of 453 yards and 33 points a game.
