Redskins | Wuerffel Says No

Updating previous reports, Nunyo Demasio, of the Washington Post, reports free agent QB Danny Wuerffel turned down an offer from the Washington Redskins to be the team's No. 2 quarterback. According to a person close to Wuerffel, the quarterback didn't think it was worth returning, especially because of the way he was released earlier this year. The deal would have been worth about $300,000 for the remaining nine games of the season. The Redskins now seem content to stick with rookie QB Gibran Hamdan and the recently-acquired QB Tim Hasselbeck.
