Broncos | Kanell Ill, Jackson Could Wind Up as Starter

Updating previous reports, Lee Rasizer, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos QB Jarious Jackson ended up as the only serviceable quarterback during Friday's practice, Oct. 24, as QB Danny Kanell came down with the flu. Head coach Mike Shanahan is not sure if Kanell will be able to play in Week 8. "I really don't know," coach Mike Shanahan said of Kanell's availability. "He's got a touch of the flu, and we'll see how he is in a couple days." With QBs Jake Plummer (foot) and Steve Beuerlein (finger) sidelined with injuries, Jackson could wind up as the starting quarterback for Week 8.
