Ravens | Ward May Become Team’s Kick Returner

Adam H. Beasley, of BaltimoreRavens.com, reports Baltimore Ravens newly acquired WR Dedric Ward may soon begin returning kicks. Currently, the Ravens are using SS Ed Reed for kick returns but Ravens head coach Brian Billick would rather rest his starting strong safety, who is already playing 65-70 snaps per game. Because the Ravens can ill-afford to take up an active roster spot for a player who only returns kicks, Ward is going to have to prove his worth as a WR to make the 45-man roster on game day.
