Eagles | No Winner Emerges In Punting Race

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports there was no clear winner in the Philadelphia Eagles' punting game during the Thursday, Aug. 28 pre-season game against the New York Jets. Inexperienced Eagles P Dirk Johnson averaged an impressive 45 yards per punt and a more than respectable 38.7 yards net. Eagles P Lee Johnson averaged 49.5 yards on his two punts, but the second of them - a 47-yarder - landed in the end zone. "The punters both did OK," said Eagles head coach Andy Reid. "We'll have to make a decision in the next couple of days."
