Colts | Huard Optimistic He Will Play In Pre-Season
Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts QB Brock Huard is optimistic he will be able to see his first action of the pre-season in the Monday, Aug. 25 game against the Denver Broncos. He has worked on his footwork and other mechanics in recent practices but has not done any throwing since suffering a cracked bone in his left index finger Aug. 5. That's a major problem because Huard is left-handed. "It's a matter of mobility and function, not being able to grip it and rip it," Huard said Thursday, Aug. 21. The team wants Huard to get some work during the pre-season, but Colts head coach Tony Dungy said that won't happen against the Broncos unless Huard can practice Friday or Saturday.
