Mets | Gant A Consideration

The Bergen Record's Pete Caldera is reporting the New York Mets are considering whether to sign slugger Ron Gant, who was designated for assignment by the Oakland Athletics two days ago. Mets manager Art Howe loved Gant's fiery attitude when the two were together in Oakland, and Howe recently singled him out as a player who would challenge underachieving teammates.
