Bengals | Smith's Security With Team Still Up In Air

Updating previous reports, Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com reports the Cincinnati Bengals worked out free-agent QBs Greg Zolman and Todd Husak on Tuesday, showing releasing Akili Smith after June 1 has clearly crossed their minds. "Yeah, it really did surprise me. I don't really know what they're looking at right now," Smith said. The Bengals are trying to decide whether to keep Smith, cut him and go with a developmental guy behind Jon Kitna and Carson Palmer, or cut him and sign a veteran between Kitna and Palmer to protect their No. 1 pick for at least the early part of the season.
