Raiders | Cap Impact of Possible Russell Cut
Updating previous stories, Steve Corkran, of the Contra Costa Times, reports the Oakland Raiders would take a sizable cap hit if DT Darrell Russell is reinstated by the NFL next month. Coach Bill Callahan has said Russell is finished as a Raider, but the club would be liable for the remaining $3.68 million on his signing bonus if Commissioner Paul Tagliabue reinstates the DT. The club likely would cut Russell after June 1 to limit the cap hit for this year.
