Chiefs | Update On Green Contract

The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said he believes that contract negotiations between the team and QB Trent Green will come right down to Friday's deadline. Vermeil predicts the two sides would come to a agreement. "Trent has told me he'll get a new contract signed, and I believe him," Vermeil said. "I'm going to trust him and hold him to his word." At issue is the $8 million bonus due Green if he's on the Chiefs roster as of Sunday. The Chiefs have until 3 p.m. Thursday to get to the league-imposed salary limit of $74.8 million.
