Chiefs | Vermeil Disappointed Over Douglas
The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil is disappointed the team did not sign DE Hugh Douglas. "This is very disappointing," Vermeil said. "This was the guy we wanted. There's nobody else available in free agency or the draft that can rush the passer like this guy can." The Chiefs talked about making a move for free agent DE Vonnie Holliday (Packers), but are unlikely to pursue him, either. That leaves the draft as the most attractive alternative to filling the spot. "We haven't even had a personnel meeting to talk about what we're going to do," Vermeil said. The team was very confident they would sign Douglas.
