Texans | Boselliís Restructure Saves Team $3.85 Million
Updating previous reports, ESPN.comís Len Pasquarelli reports Houston Texans OT Tony Boselliís (shoulder) restructured contract with the team will buy him more time in his recovery from continued shoulder problems. By restructuring, Boselli has cut his salary cap hit by $3.85 million this year. He was scheduled to earn $4.5 million in base salary, which has been reduced to $650,000. If heís healthy and able to play, he could earn it back through incentives. If he plays 20 percent of the snaps, heíll collect a bonus of $500,000. The structure is set up to pay him an additional $500,000 for every 10 percent more that he plays. Thus, playing about 80 percent of the snaps will earn him back the pay cut he took. Heís due a $2 million roster bonus March 1, which his agent, Jack Mills, has reiterated heíll receive.
