Gambles paying off
Prior to the start of the 2011 season, NASCAR introduced a few major changes. The point system was simplified, the Chase format was altered to add a pair of wildcard spots, and drivers were told to police themselves on the track with a boys have at it mentality.
While the mathematical impact of the new point system on fantasy owners has been talked about at length, the impact of the two other changes has been flying under the radar. However, it is these last two changes that have been silent killers in fantasy circles. Click here to read the rest...
Fantasy NASCAR: Power Outage
By KFFL Staff | Categories: Fantasy NASCAR,NASCAR
An engine failure is one of the most frustrating issues a fantasy racing owner has to deal with. A blown engine is a guaranteed DNF. NASCAR won't allow teams to change engines in the middle of a race, which means there is no picking up extra spots during the rest of the race like drivers do after a wreck. No, an engine failure means a driver is going to take the hard left turn into the garage where they will spend the rest of the day. Click here to read the rest...
Fantasy NASCAR: Let’s Make A Deal

NASCAR is taking a week off prior to a trip to Bristol Motor Speedway, but that doesn't mean fantasy owners can afford do the same. If you play in a league that allows trades, the bye week is the perfect time to try to improve your roster. With three races in the books, there is decent a chance you can catch some other fantasy owners in panic mode and get your hands on some big names that are off to slow starts at a discount price. Now is also the best time to sell high on some drivers that have been strong out of the gate. Click here to read the rest...
Fantasy NASCAR: Lesson Learned

Trevor Bayne has been the talk of the NASCAR world following his victory in the Daytona 500, and rightfully so. However, Bayne wasn't the only driver to surprise in the season opener. How many people expected David Gilliland and Bobby Labonte to finish in the top-five? Did anyone have Bill Elliott and Terry Labonte in the top-15? Lost in Bayne's record-setting win was the harsh lesson taught to anybody that plays fantasy NASCAR games that feature restrictions on the number of starts for each driver. If you chose to use big names at Daytona, you are making a mistake. Click here to read the rest...

Fantasy NASCAR undervalued and sleeper drivers
By KFFL Staff | Categories: Fantasy NASCAR,NASCAR
For fantasy NASCAR owners getting ready to make picks in draft formats, it is vital to select secondary drivers with potential to outperform the slot in which they are taken. The pool of drivers that are in contention for good finishes on a weekly basis is limited. Those in mid-size and large leagues will find free-agent options nearly non-existent, making the waiver wire an afterthought. You simply must nail it on draft day to compete. Fantasy NASCAR overvalued and bust drivers
By KFFL Staff | Categories: Fantasy NASCAR,NASCAR
NASCAR is a sport with many ups and downs. The winner one week could barely finish inside the top 20 the next. Over the course of a single race a driver could be leading laps one moment only to end the day on the hook of a tow truck. With 36 points-paying races that span from February through November, it's doubtful the drivers highlighted below will struggle each and every week. However, there is a question mark or two surrounding them due to key team changes, troublesome trends or simply some doubts about duplicating last year's success.
