Fantasy analysis: Vereen is an all-around back that doesn't do anything especially well. He should join a fairly crowded backfield in New England and could have reasonable fantasy value as a rookie.
Stay tuned this offseason, as the Patriots spent a third-round pick on LSU running back Stevan Ridley, a more powerful rusher. BenJarvus Green-Ellis could be a free agent, and Danny Woodhead starred for the Patriots down the stretch in 2010.
Vereen is a midrange stash player in keeper leagues. His single-year value is yet to be determined, but he will probably share the load in a committee approach in 2011.
