2011 NFL Draft – Pick 71: DeMarco Murray, RB, Dallas Cowboys
By Cory J. Bonini on April 29, 2011
The Dallas Cowboys selected Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray with the 71st overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Fantasy analysis: The selection of Murray all but spells the end of Marion Barber III's time in Dallas. Murray is a similar back, albeit not quite as violent of a runner, and has special teams return skills. He is a lot cheaper than Barber, too.
Determining Murray's fantasy value in 2011 really comes down to how head coach Jason Garrett views Tashard Choice. Historically, it has been a rocky relationship at times. At best, Murray will split time with Felix Jones. For now, Murray is a worthwhile flier pick in the later stages of your single-year drafts. Keeper leaguers can bump him a little higher up their boards.
