We all know there were some extremely questionable calls and some flat out blown calls in the most crucial of situations in this year’s MLB playoffs.
It started with Joe Mauer’s double down the left-field line that was called foul in the ALDS; it was clearly fair, by a mile! Then there was the double play that wasn’t in the ALCS when both Jorge Posada and Robinson Cano were tagged at third base and neither was exactly touching the bag.

I’ll admit, I was slightly cut off from fantasy football leading up to Week 9 games. First, my New York Yankees won the World Series that Wednesday (let the hate mail start). The next day, my colleague Nicholas Minnix and I flew to Arizona for a rawhide weekend at the Baseball HQ First Pitch Forums.
(If you didn’t know, Nick is a Phillies fan. We somehow remained civil.) Want more? Keep reading…

Alex Rodriguez has come a long way.
That was an unconscious observation as this 2009 baseball season unfolded. How profound was his turnaround, though; it hit me like a ton o’ Mizuno Maples.
A FOX Sports poll asked readers whether A-Rod has proven himself with his 2009 playoff showing. Or is he still a postseason patsy? Or, is it TBD, get back to me after the World Series? Want more? Keep reading…

As a Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim fan I must say I have always dreaded a matchup with the Boston Red Sox in the postseason, and I think I have a legitimate reason to: The Sox have beaten us when it matters three out of the last five years, including sweeps in 2004 and 2007.
Putting the past in the past, I am actually looking forward to this year’s postseason matchup between the two familiar foes. I firmly believe the Angels will buck the trend and send the Red Sox packing in October.
Here are five reasons why the Halos WILL beat Boston in 2009: Want more? Keep reading…

Those who refuse to let go of this 2009 fantasy baseball season won’t have to just yet. The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers will clash in a one-game playoff Tuesday afternoon to determine the AL Central champ.

Jim Caple, of ESPN.com, reports Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau (back) will miss the remainder of the season with a stress fracture in his lower back. A CT scan Monday, Sept. 14, revealed the stress fracture in the L5 vertebrae in his lower back. Surgery won’t be necessary, but Morneau will have to rest his back for three months. He’ll be able to ride a bike and lift weights, but he’ll have to avoid running and doing anything that puts pressure on his spine. Want more? Keep reading…
