Deep down everyone probably thinks they could be a head coach or general manager in the NFL, and there really isn’t anything wrong with that. Sure, it was annoying when your buddy that didn’t know who Percy Harvin was during your fantasy draft professed he could run the Colts better than Jim Caldwell would be able to.
You chuckled and moved on with your day.
“Sure, pal … sure you could.”
“You want to bet on it?” said friend barks back, as though his theory will actually be proven right some day. ”I’ll give you Drew Brees for your place kicker if the Colts win more than three games by Week 8!” Want more? Keep reading…

Alex Rodriguez has come a long way.
That was an unconscious observation as this 2009 baseball season unfolded. How profound was his turnaround, though; it hit me like a ton o’ Mizuno Maples.
A FOX Sports poll asked readers whether A-Rod has proven himself with his 2009 playoff showing. Or is he still a postseason patsy? Or, is it TBD, get back to me after the World Series? Want more? Keep reading…

Maurice Jones-Drew isn’t happy with the way the Jacksonville Jaguars played on Sunday in their 41-0 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Or the way his offense has performed in the first five weeks, period.
Rush Limbaugh wasn’t pleased to find out that he had been dropped from a group attempting to buy the St. Louis Rams. Dave Checketts, chairman of the NHL’s Blues and front man for said bid, made the announcement on Wednesday. Want more? Keep reading…

Could Mark Sanchez be on Denver's radar?
The Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears recently completed a trade that sends quarterback Jay Cutler to the Bears. In return, the Broncos land this year’s No. 18 overall pick, the No. 84 overall selection (third round), Chicago’s 2010 first-round choice and quarterback Kyle Orton. Denver also sends a 2009 fifth-round pick to the Bears. Want more? Keep reading…

Will the legal system sack Michael Vick again?
I was all set to write about the KFFL Internal fantasy baseball league, of which I am drafting in, when I saw an Associated Press story at ESPN.com, regarding accusations by the U.S. Department of Labor against Michael Vick. They are accusing him of withdrawing more than $1.3 million in pension plan funds. Want more? Keep reading…

I am assuming by now you’ve heard that Terrell Owens has been let go. My colleague, Tim Heaney, wrote on the subject yesterday, and we’ve recently released our analysis of the impact that will be felt on the Dallas Cowboys.
With the shameless plugs out of the way, where will TO land? The Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers appear to be frontrunners; the Cincinnati Bengals haven’t ruled it out while the New England Patriots are an intriguing option, especially for fantasy players. A receiving corps of Randy Moss, TO, Wes Welker with Tom Brady throwing to them would be dangerous beyond belief.
If none of them take the plunge, though, I guess the Toronto Argonauts are always an option. Kerry Joseph had better invest in a thick pair of earplugs if that’s the case. Want more? Keep reading…

“No.”
The most amazing thing about language is how easily meaning changes. Perhaps the most influential factors in that regard are the speaker and the audience. All it takes is one word.
“For the record, have you ever used steroids, human growth hormone or any other performance-enhancing substance?” Katie Couric asked Alex Rodriguez on Dec. 16, 2007, on “60 Minutes.” Want more? Keep reading…
