Continuing my series on my 2009 All-Fantasy team, let’s move on with running backs. My focus is in leagues that award points for receptions (PPR). For those wondering you can view my quarterback blog and see how that broke down. For those that don’t want to read how I determined the best quarterbacks, here are the results. Want more? I’m starting my series on my selections for my 2009 All-Fantasy team. Unlike most that quickly toss their list together based on total numbers, I’m going to try to look at other factors, specifically, how did they do come playoff time? It doesn’t matter if a player is All-World if they get you to the dance and fail to produce. You hear me Tony Romo! I’ve tried to break it down a little deeper than most. My criteria: Want more? KFFL participates in various weekly question columns, and with the season over it’s never too early to look towards next season. One of the questions posed to us this week asked which player we feel will be underrated in fantasy drafts next season. It’s a tough question this early, but to be honest, no one can tell this early because there will be offseason movement by players, head coaches and offensive coordinators. Not to mention the NFL Draft. Want more? Keep reading…

Final NFL Power Rankings

This was one of the most exciting fantasy football and NFL seasons I have seen in years despite what looks like a lot of disparity between teams because of records. The Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears and others all upset quality teams. How does it shake out? First and foremost these rankings follow the trend of how teams are playing now. It’s funny because some teams that are out of the playoff race may be better than ones that made it in. I judge based on how they’re playing and not by their records! Want more? Keep reading…

What a Week 16! The Tampa Bay BuccaneersRaheem Morris may have saved his job with his victory over the New Orleans Saints. I would still fire him, along with Seattle Seahawks head coach Jim Mora. The Seahawks, despite their record, makes my worst NFL teams list this week, while the Vikings and Saints drop out of the top five, and deservedly so. I judge based on how they’re playing not their records! Want more? Keep reading…

Week 16 Review: A little self-indulgence and some one-liners!

What a week: two championship games and one victory. The one I lost, I insist I had the better team. It was a tough loss to take because for the second straight week, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was a fantasy bum with only one touchdown! However, he’s winning in December, and that illustrates the difference between fantasy and the NFL! Then there was Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, with his three-reception, 33-yard performance. OUCH! Want more? Keep reading…

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! It’s championship week and I’m proud to say I’m in second place heading into the final week of a high-stakes league. On the line is $100K, so I’ll be watching the games this week! On the KFFL expert league front, I’m happy with my season. Started out in four leagues, made the playoffs in three of them and am in two championship matchups. One is KFFL’s own KFAD, so wish me luck as it could be one of the best Christmases ever! Right when it looks as if we’re figuring the season out, upsets and beatdowns shake up the landscape. While we may all agree there are some elite teams, we found out that anyone can play with anyone, but the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints defy the odds with fourth-quarter comebacks.

It reminds me, though, of the New England Patriots, who were so dominant in the first half during their undefeated run but slowly fell back to earth as the season and pressure wore them down. I don’t think anyone can say the two unbeatens are dominant; rather, they are more complete than dominant. Both have chinks in their armor that cause them to bend but so far not break. Want more? First off, my condolences to the family of former Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, who passed away today after suffering severe head trauma. NFL.com has the story; it appears it was a domestic dispute issue. Henry had begun to turn his life around, and I can’t help view this as a true tragedy. Henry was someone who lived life on the wrong side of the tracks, had righted himself and would have been able to help others who were walking down a similar path. My heart goes out to his three children, who are now fatherless, but I hope, based on NFL salaries, the kids do not have to worry. Want more? Keep reading…
