FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi report the Detroit Tigers acquired starting pitcher Jarrod Washburn from the Seattle Mariners for pitcher Luke French and pitcher Mauricio Robles.

Washburn leaves one pitchers’ park for a more neutral location and leaves the AL West for the AL Central, which boasts comparable offenses. Washburn’s win total could receive a boost with the Tigers’ powerful offense behind him. Detroit’s bullpen (4.16 ERA) hasn’t been quite as steady as Seattle’s (3.89 ERA) at upholding leads, though. Overall, his fantasy value stays about the same, with the potential upgrade in wins. Want more? Keep reading…

FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal reports the Philadelphia Phillies acquired starting pitcher Cliff Lee and outfielder Ben Francisco from the Cleveland Indians for starting pitcher Jason Knapp, starter Carlos Carrasco, shortstop Jason Donald and catcher Lou Marson. The deal is pending a medical review.

Lee’s fantasy value stays about the same with the trade; there could be a grace period as National League hitters adjust to Lee’s repertoire. He may also receive better run support; Lee’s run support average was 5.03, one of the worst marks in the majors, despite Cleveland’s high-ranking offense. The 30-year-old lefty leaves a hitters’ park for a more hitter-friendly park, but he enters an arguably weaker-hitting division. Want more? Keep reading…

Kudos is deserved to the Atlanta Braves‘ brass, which sent 44-year-old, surefire Hall of Fame starter Tom Glavine packing after he completed his rehab assignment in the minors. This was an incredibly unpopular move, especially after the team failed to meet starter John Smoltz’s demands before he signed with the Boston Red Sox in the offseason. Want more? Keep reading…
