Your headquarters for fantasy baseball analysis of Major League Baseball's trade deadline moves
[UPDATE 8:57 p.m. ET] Some shortstop notes: A reminder that with Rafael Furcal now a member of the St. Louis Cardinals, Dee Gordon will carry the load at SS for the Los Angeles Dodgers. If you're hurting for speed and/or a 6er, scoop him up.
The Orlando Cabrera swap opens up time in Cleveland for Jason Kipnis' full-time duty, improving his mixed-league value. He's not as safe an option in shallows unless you're desperate. As for O-Cab, Miguel Tejada (back) is still weeks from returning, so he's a last-ditch rental in mixed leagues who might be relegated to part-time duty when Tejada comes back.
[UPDATE 4:25 p.m. ET] The Boston Red Sox have acquired SP Erik Bedard and RP Joshua Fields in a three-team deal which also involves the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers. The Mariners will receive OF Trayvon Robinson from the Dodgers and OF Chih-Hsien Chiang from the Red Sox. The Dodgers will receive C Tim Federowicz from the Red Sox and two additional minor leaguers.
Though Bedard's new park isn't as helpful (6.99 career ERA at Fenway Park), he'll have much more run support now that he's actually playing for that team. If he's still available in your league, pounce.
Robinson is an elite speed prospect that could immediately see a chance in Seattle; if not this year, he'll be in camp next season. AL-only players should go after him immediately, and deep mixed speed chasers could take a shot, as long as they don't go overboard on a bid.
Chiang is having a stellar campaign at Double-A Portland and gives Seattle even more outfield depth. The 23-year-old is a stashable prospect in dynasty setups
Los Angeles Dodgers SS Rafael Furcal is approving the trade to the St. Louis Cardinals. He needed to sign off on the deal since he is 10-year veteran, with five years with the same club. Click here to read the rest...
The Cleveland Indians acquired Colorado Rockies SP Ubaldo Jimenez Saturday, July 30, for four players. The Indians send SP Alex White, 1B Matt McBride, SP Joe Gardner, and a player to be named, which is SP Drew Pomeranz.
Pomeranz is a PTBNL because he signed in mid-August, and cannot be officially named in a deal until Aug. 15, the one-year anniversary of his signing. Click here to read the rest...
If you are a Washington Redskins fan, you might want to stop reading now… Please. Do yourself a favor and turn away. KFFL colleague Cory Bonini opined yesterday that the 'Skins have passed Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders as the worst run organization in the sport. And I wholeheartedly agree. Seriously, can you argue [...]
As you know, this little thing called the NFL lockout has been lifted, and fantasy owners can't get enough of this stuff. Join me as I spin around the league to address interesting, and some not so, fantasy situations. Buffalo Bills I have to say, Tyler Thigpen is underrated (unless you're a Miami Dolphins fan. [...]
The San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets have reached an agreement on a trade that will send OF Carlos Beltran to the Giants, but Beltran now has 24 hours to accept, which he is expected to do. The Mets will pick up a good chunk of the $6 million left on Beltran's deal. The deal is believed to be centered around SP Zack Wheeler.
When this goes through, Beltran won't see a big change in value. He'll play in another pitcher-friendly park. He'll miss having Jose Reyes hitting in front of him and David Wright batting behind him, but Beltran has regained the thump in his bat that makes him a threat in any stadium or lineup. The Toronto Blue Jays acquired OF Colby Rasmus and Ps Trever Miller, Brian Tallet and P.J. Walters from the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday, July 27, in exchange for Ps Edwin Jackson, Marc Rzepczynski and Octavio Dotel and OF Corey Patterson. Miller is expected to be flipped to the Chicago White Sox in a separate trade.
Add Rasmus if he was dropped in your mixed league. He's an immediate grab in AL-only setups worthy of a hefty FAAB bid. Click here to read the rest...
It's like you're dating a hottie who flirts with your friend, but you ignore it because ... well, look at her. Then one day ... she's breaking up with you via text and you all of a sudden have an itchy sensation. If you sense trouble, you'd want to get out before that happens, right?

Looking for a deep sleeper at wide receiver? So am I, and I may have found him. Second-year wide receiver Eric Decker is in a quality situation to be a profitable fantasy football gamble in all standard and deep leagues. His Denver Broncos teammate, Eddie Royal, proclaimed himself healthy after hip surgery, but wideout Demaryius [...]
If the Cards are to contend, they'll undoubtedly need to bolster their pitching staff. If reinforcements come from the front end, there could be a new player at the back end.

Fantasy football running back talk, including a look at age and prior year performance for the backs taken in the first four rounds. Guys to keep an eye on: Ryan Mathews and Jonathan Stewart.
My Triple Crown NL-only expert league team, which is currently trying to hold off SportingNews' George Winkler for the lead, was smiling ear to ear after the Los Angeles Dodgers-San Francisco Giants affair today. Dodgers southpaw hurler Clayton Kershaw went eight frames and surrendered three hits, walked one and struck out a career-high 12. He [...]
He gets Raul Ibanez and Mike Moustakas. I take Erick Aybar and ... Juan Miranda. Before you say anything, I took on Miranda's carcass just to make the deal work and used him as a free roster spot to address other needs.
