I started the season 2-0, but my third matchup didn’t go quite as I had hoped it would. NovaFantasySports’ Dan Pacheco chose the Tennessee Titans, so I rolled with my failsafe Minnesota Vikings.
Chris Johnson is fast. I don’t think fast is even the word. The guy is ridiculous on this game, and no matter what I did to bottle up Johnson, Dan found a way to speed the second-year tailback past my defenders, mainly by way of the screen pass. Johnson posted nine catches for 147 yards and scored a touchdown through the air. Want more? Keep reading…

The bye weeks begin and with this comes the need for fantasy owners to pick up a defense if their only defense is on bye. My advice here is to make sure you play the weekly defensive matchup but be careful.
In some leagues there are waiver deadlines and you don’t want to be caught with a subpar defense because you focused on week-to-week matchups. Make sure you survey some of the defenses and don’t hesitate to keep one of them if you see fantasy potential with them. Want more? Keep reading…

Too early to give up on Royal?
Held to four yards on one catch in Week 3, Broncos WR Eddie Royal is deep in the fantasy doghouse.
How deep? In the 12-team, PPR league in which KFFL contributor Eric McClung and I compete, one owner dropped Royal to snag 49ers TE Vernon Davis. Overall, Royal’s ownership is down to 74 percent in Yahoo! leagues and 89.3 percent in ESPN leagues. Want more? Keep reading…

Here are a few sleepers, mixed in with one fantasy stud you don’t bench, for Week 4.
Kerry Collins, quarterback, Tennessee Titans: The veteran passer has a favorable matchup for Week 4 play, and desperate owners should take notice. Last year, in Week 11, Collins threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns versus the JAX defense. If your typical slinger is enjoying his one-week vacation, check out Collins. Want more? Keep reading…

Before the Week 3 games kicked off, I participated in the second installment of the Fantasy Football Roundtable. The question: Every year a handful of receivers emerge from obscurity to become fantasy relevant. This year a few relatively overlooked receivers such as Earl Bennett, Mario Manningham and Andre Caldwell showed signs that they could be factors in 2009. Who are your two or three favorite surprise receivers for this season? Want more? Keep reading…

MyFantasyLeague.com’s Brandon Coughlin and I entered a grueling defensive battle in my second game of the Xbox/EXperts Madden 10 challenge. He chose the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and I ran with the Atlanta Falcons for the first time ever.
I kicked off to the Bucs to open the game, and Brandon drove down the field to boot through a three-pointer for the game’s initial score. I responded with a field goal early in the second quarter to bring it even. Want more? Keep reading…
