Adam McCalvy, of MLB.com, reports Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Corey Hart (appendectomy) will miss two to three weeks because of an appendectomy. Realistically, though, Hart will likely miss the rest of August, according to general manager Doug Melvin. “Best case is probably trying to get him ready for September,” Melvin said. Want more? The Toronto Blue Jays have placed closer Scott Downs (foot) on the 15-day disabled list after he aggravated the same left foot injury that forced him to the DL in June. Downs was hit in the leg by a line drive off the bat of Oakland Athletics designated hitter Jack Cust Saturday, Aug. 1, but remained in the game to face one more batter before being removed.
