
It all comes down to the choice wording, and Brett Favre has shown us he is incapable of definitively putting an end to rumors. Saying things like “retired, at this time” or that he is “unlikely” to change his mind haven’t and don’t exactly slam the door on his potential comeback(s). Then again, he said after his latest retirement that he would not play again. This week the NASCAR Sprint Cup series returns to Pocono Raceway for the Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500. FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal reports the Philadelphia Phillies acquired starting pitcher Cliff Lee and outfielder Ben Francisco from the Cleveland Indians for starting pitcher Jason Knapp, starter Carlos Carrasco, shortstop Jason Donald and catcher Lou Marson. The deal is pending a medical review.
Lee’s fantasy value stays about the same with the trade; there could be a grace period as National League hitters adjust to Lee’s repertoire. He may also receive better run support; Lee’s run support average was 5.03, one of the worst marks in the majors, despite Cleveland’s high-ranking offense.
