Kudos is deserved to the Atlanta Braves‘ brass, which sent 44-year-old, surefire Hall of Fame starter Tom Glavine packing after he completed his rehab assignment in the minors. No love for DeAngelo Williams?

He scored 20 touchdowns, tops among running backs. His 94.7 rushing yards per game ranked third, behind only Adrian Peterson and Michael Turner. He did not fumble – not even once. And his 5.5 yards per carry, though meaningless in fantasy terms, was the stuff of pure dominance. It was a half-yard higher than any other running back with at least 200 carries. (Brandon Jacobs, at 5.0 ypc, was next.)

Based purely on 2008 stats, DeAngelo Williams has every right to be the top-ranked fantasy RB entering 2009. Yet most experts are treating him like a one-year wonder. KFFL ranks him No. 11. Yahoo! ranks him No. 5. ESPN ranks him No. 8. Want more? Keep reading…
