Don't forget about Chase Coffman in the NFL Draft...

Don't forget about Chase Coffman during the NFL Draft...

When I watch Missouri tight end Chase Coffman, I see a mega-talent.

I see stiff-arming power, I see leapfrogging athleticism, and I see red zone prowess. I see a 6-foot-6 ball-hawk with hands, balance and body control. At the very least, I see receiving skills on the order of Owen Daniels or Chris Cooley. I certainly see the best pass-catching tight end in this draft.

The Detroit Lions and the No. 1 Pick: The Detroit Lions are on the clock, and there’s rampant speculation on who they will take. Based on my limited knowledge as I’m not involved in draft coverage like I used to be, I’m not too impressed with the quarterbacks coming out this year, unlike the media and fanboys out there. In fact, in recent years, and I say “recent,” meaning outside Carson Palmer, USC quarterbacks have not done so well. Before you point to Matt Cassel, he was a project and not a high draft pick, and it took him a few years, during which he fought off replacements before showing results. Want more? Keep reading…

Jeff Gordon has six career victories at Talladega

This week the NASCAR Sprint Cup series heads to Talladega Superspeedway, the longest track on the circuit – 2.66 miles. Talladega is known for its long straightaways and ultra steep banking in the corners. The use of restrictor plates are required to keep the speed of the racecars in check. Daytona International Speedway is the only other track that uses restrictor plates – also consider a driver’s history there when evaluating who to start this week. Want more? Keep reading…
