Braylon Edwards would be a good addition in New York

The New York Giants are on the lookout for another No. 1 wideout to replace the released Plaxico Burress. According to reports, they are close to acquiring one – the Cleveland BrownsBraylon Edwards.

KFFL’s Ryan R. Bonini has already thrown his two cents into the pot on this subject, so I’m going to play the Wilbon to Bonini’s Kornheiser.

Why haven’t the Giants pulled the trigger on this deal yet?

Cleveland is believed to be asking for the Giants’ 2009 second-round draft pick, a fifth-round pick and wide receiver Steve Smith in exchange for the mercurial Edwards, according to Yahoo! Sports’ Jason Cole. New York has reportedly offered back the same draft picks but thrown in wide receiver Domenik Hixon instead of Smith.

So why would the Giants want him? Want more? Keep reading…

According to Clark Judge, of CBSSports.com, sources close to the Giants confirmed the team is working on a deal to obtain him, but it is just a work in progress right now.

The big thing that bothers me in this situation is why do the Giants want to go after another problem child wideout? Didn’t they learn their lesson with Plaxico Burress? Want more? Keep reading…
