So many things about baseball are poetic. Philadelphia Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas is the career leader in iambic pentameter.

It’s impossible to express what Harry means to the City of Brotherly Love and, more importantly, to the listeners whose lives he touched just by doing what he did best. That is, impossible without feeling a little moisture well up around the ol’ peepers.

How do I know? Well, I grew up with Harry. We all did.

The news that Jason Motte would receive work in a frame other than the ninth should have come as no shock to fantasy baseball players.
