Part II of my silly blog about which team is a Brett Favre away from a Super Bowl. Check out Part I if you missed it as it covers the AFC teams!

I’ll say this: As much as I despise the overrated one, he is good enough to be a game-changer for a few teams on the cusp. Personally, I think he’s a game-changer in a negative way, but he makes the game exciting and fun to watch!

For me, watching the overrated one fail was always something I could count on regularly once the playoffs started. It was even more of a pleasure when his personal shill, John Madden, was calling the game he lost. I used to wonder what excuse Madden would come up with to blame someone else for the loss! Most of the time he would! Want more? Keep reading…

Where does former Green Bay and future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre sign if he decides to come back? For the record, he came out and said:

“Nothing has changed. At this time, I am retired and have no intention of returning to football.”

Personally, I believe Favre is the most overrated quarterback in modern times. Sure he has the numbers … in the regular season. In a crunch-time game with playoff implications? He’s the last quarterback I would want leading the charge. He’s reckless and makes too many mistakes when everything’s on the line as his playoff history shows! Want more? Keep reading…

Huston Street saves the day

I hate to say I told you so. But … I told you so. Managing Editor Tim Heaney noted this in the April 17 edition of our Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market – Falling series, too.

Huston Street put three nails in the San Diego Padres‘ coffin today in a flawless ninth frame to earn his second save. Hasty fantasy baseball players everywhere have the Delorean pedal to the metal in an effort to reach 88 mph.

The Denver Post’s Patrick Saunders: “With Manuel Corpas struggling to find command of his sinker and slider, Street’s strong performance makes it likely he’ll continue in the closer’s role.” Want more? Keep reading…

How would Favre look wearing purple?

How would Favre look wearing purple?

The stage is set for one of the most decorated NFL quarterbacks to come out of retirement… again.

The New York Jets quietly released Brett Favre from their reserve-retired list this evening.

While it happened quietly two days following the NFL Draft, it will surely be talked about non-stop from now until the start of the 2009 regular season. Actually, look for it to be kicked around right into the season as soon as a quarterback is dealt an injury on a Super Bowl hopeful team. Want more? Keep reading…

Several prospects were drafted in the third round and could pose fantasy owners decisions to make on draft day.

Shonn Greene, Running Back, New York Jets

The Jets traded away three of their four remaining selections in the draft to move up to the first pick in the third round so they could land University of Iowa running back Shonn Greene. Highly productive for one year (1,850 yards, 20 touchdowns), Greene is a big back (5-foot-10 1/2, 227 pounds) with amazingly quick feet for his size. He encountered academic problems entering Iowa and while he was attending, costing him the 2006 season due to ineligibility, but he’s a freight train on the field. Barring an injury to tailback Thomas Jones, who is 31 years old in August, I don’t see Greene receiving much playing time in 2009. He is a stash player for the 2010 season if fantasy owners in keeper leagues have the room. If you want to take a shot on him with a final-round flier in 2009, it wouldn’t hurt. Jones owners would be wise to handcuff Greene in deep leagues. Want more? Keep reading…
