Here are some important changes around the league through the start of the 2009 NFL free-agent market:
Kansas City Chiefs acquire QB Matt Cassel
The Chiefs get their quarterback of the present and the future; plus the Patriots show their hand in their belief quarterback Tom Brady (knee) is healthy for 2009!
Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade for TE Kellen Winslow
K2 and his attitude are out of Cleveland. Can he continue to be an elite NFL and fantasy football tight end in Tampa Bay? He has got the job done with scrubs at quarterback before, so Tampa Bay – regardless of who starts at quarterback – may be no different.
RB Fred Taylor agrees with the New England Patriots
If any team can grab a veteran player on the downswing and have him pick up his level of play, it is the Patriots. Can they find lightning in a bottle with Freddy T? We will find out soon enough, but I really like this move.
There will definitely be more to come!

The 2009 NFL free-agent market got off to a bang Friday and hasn’t slowed down. However, the highlight so far may be the New England Patriots trading quarterback Matt Cassel to the Kansas City Chiefs along with linebacker Mike Vrabel.
