Keeper league advice

We’re in keeper season right now. That is, some leagues have stipulations in their rules to let go of some players and keep others. Some keeper leagues preserve a full roster and waive players to take part in every year’s draft or during in season free-agent pickups. The numbers of players are set in your league rules. I played in a keeper league for a few years and was good at it.

I believe the difference is how you approach players you keep. I do believe in a few approaches, and I think they can help you, too. Many owners who consistently find themselves in the driver’s seats will read this and go, “What’s the big deal, that’s how it should be,” but most owners don’t. There are other approaches; I just believe in thinking from the big picture, competing to win every year with a balance of maturing youth and low-cost veterans that can still produce.
