49ers | Trio worked together in offseason

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and WRs A.J. Jenkins and Ricardo Lockette lived together for two months in Atlanta during the offseason, working together at a nearby training facility. And since the opening of the team's offseason program, WR Anquan Boldin has served as a mentor, helping the two receivers on route running after practice.

49ers | A.J. Jenkins adds muscle

San Francisco 49ers WR A.J. Jenkins focused this offseason on adding muscle and knowledge of the game. He bulked up to 196 pounds, which is four more than his listed weight. "If I get to 200 (pounds), I'll be good to go," Jenkins said.

49ers | Aldon Smith working

San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith (shoulder) is still recovering from labrum surgery during the offseason. He has been doing a "little bit" of work at the start of organized team activities (OTAs).

49ers | Have some wiggle room

The San Francisco 49ers have $1.36 million in salary cap space with five of their draft picks signed.

49ers | Two to compete for top OLB backup job

San Francisco 49ers LBs Parys Haralson and Corey Lemonier are expected to compete to be the primary backup at outside linebacker. Haralson is better suited for the base 3-4 defensive alignment while Lemonier likely will be used in pass-rush situations.

Seahawks | Josh Portis released

The Seattle Seahawks released QB Josh Portis Tuesday, May 21, following his arrest for driving under the influence earlier this month.

Seahawks | Two limited in OTAs

Seattle Seahawks RB Christine Michael (hamstring) and CB Tharold Simon (foot) were limited in organized team activities Monday, May 20. RB Robert Turbin had the chance to take first-team repetitions with RB Marshawn Lynch a no-show.

Seahawks | Cliff Avril hurting

Seattle Seahawks DL Cliff Avril (foot) is expected to start running later this week, but head coach Pete Carroll said Avril is hurting. Carroll said Avril won't be able to practice for "another couple weeks at least."

Seahawks | Russell Wilson more advanced

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said QB Russell Wilson is a million miles ahead of where he was last year. "He threw a couple of balls today, things that we talked about over the offseason that he'd like to take a shot at, and he did it today just to see what would happen with full awareness of why he was doing it," Carroll said.
