49ers | Two to compete for top OLB backup job

San Francisco 49ers LBs Parys Haralson and Corey Lemonier are expected to compete to be the primary backup at outside linebacker. Haralson is better suited for the base 3-4 defensive alignment while Lemonier likely will be used in pass-rush situations.

49ers | Cornellius Carradine expected to be ready for camp

San Francisco 49ers DE Cornellius Carradine (knee) is expected to be ready for the start of training camp. He is still recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered his last year in college.

49ers | Would like to use rotation at DL

The San Francisco 49ers would like to rotate players along the defensive line this season to make sure DEs Justin Smith and Ray McDonald do not wear down during games.

49ers | Colt McCoy favorite for No. 2 QB job

San Francisco 49ers QB Colt McCoy is the clear favorite to win the No. 2 quarterback job during training camp.

49ers | A.J. Jenkins looks to have bulked up

San Francisco 49ers WR A.J. Jenkins has worked hard in the weight room this offseason and appears to have added more muscle than last season. Jenkins is expected to be one of the candidates for the No. 3 wide receiver job this season.

Jets | Update on Mike Goodson

Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB Mike Goodson was arrested Friday, May 17, and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a loaded handgun and possession of a hollow-point bullet. Goodson was being held on $50,000 full cash bail.

Jets | Dee Milliner fires agent

New York Jets CB Dee Milliner became the second rookie on the team to fire his agency, Impact Sport, after he failed to be taken in the top five of the 2013 NFL Draft. QB Geno Smith also fired his agent after falling into the second round. Milliner must wait five days before hiring a new agency. Since 2000, Impact Sports has represented 12 first-round picks. He reportedly was slowly recovering from shoulder surgery before the draft, although teams were informed that it wasn't much of an issue.

Jets | Mike Goodson taken into custody

New York Jets RB Mike Goodson was taken into New Jersey police custody for drug possession and weapons charges.

Jets | Quinton Coples putting forth more effort

New York Jets LB Quinton Coples said he has responded to the coaches' criticism by giving more effort in the weight room.

Jets | David Garrard could return as coach

Retired QB David Garrard said the New York Jets offered him the chance to attend their training camp as a coaching intern. Garrard said he will have to talk with his wife before deciding to accept the offer.
