This matchup takes Alex Smith from being a player that you don't have to worry about hurting you to a potential Week 3 stud.

Frank Gore deserves a lineup spot pretty much every week, even if the matchup, like this one, isn't ideal. Kendall Hunter has marginal value as a flex play in deep leagues.

Michael Crabtree has low-end No. 1 value versus this maligned secondary. Randy Moss could jump back into the touchdown column, while Mario Manningham might post his best game of the year and improve his dismal yards-per-reception average.

Vernon Davis is the only VD you want to worry about catching this weekend. All kidding aside (sort of), as usual, he is a must start.

Vikings

Christian Ponder shouldn't be in your lineup this week, but this matchup will be a good barometer of what to expect in less-than-ideal situations going forward.

Adrian Peterson followed up a Week 1 surprise with a stinker of a performance. He isn't fully back, which was evident. Play him if you must this weekend.

The only playable Viking may be Percy Harvin this week, and that is in PPR leagues. There is a chance Kyle Rudolph sneaks into the end zone, but you will find plenty of better choices to start ahead of him.
