New York Giants CB Terrell Thomas (knee) said he is open to moving to safety because he knew that he would be moving to the position at some point because of his body type. He said he does not think it would be a hard transition for him because it is like some positions he has played in the past.

New York Giants CB Terrell Thomas (knee) said his surgically repaired knee is doing great and that he may start doing individual drills in the near future. Thomas said he is taking is rehab slowly and there is no timetable for his return.

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said QB Robert Griffin III (knee) will have to participate in practice before playing in a game. Griffin said he would be comfortable with playing Week 1 without playing in any preseason games.

The Washington Redskins have signed third-round draft choice TE Jordan Reed. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Washington Redskins LB London Fletcher said he never seriously considered retiring this offseason even though there was speculation that he was thinking about it.

Washington Redskins RB Roy Helu (Achilles', toe) did not participate in organized team activities Thursday, May 23. Helu did get some work in on the side as he rehabs from a toe injury.

Redskins | Coach puts high expectations on Robert Griffin III

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said that QB Robert Griffin III could go down as one of the best quarterbacks to play the game if he has another year like 2012. "If Robert plays like he did (in 2012) the rest of his career, he'll go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game," Shanahan said.
