Giants

Pass-happy New York will be without its top rusher and No. 1 receiver. The Giants aren't shy about putting the game on QB1 Eli Manning's shoulders, even in a semi-tough matchup like this one, but the lack of weapons makes him a shaky play.

Andre Brown should fill in most often for an inactive Ahmad Bradshaw (neck), and this opponent makes Brown look like a pretty good play as an RB2. Although David Wilson hasn't done much with his opportunities, the talented back isn't yet scrap material - just a semi-desperate play in Week 3.

Victor Cruz's Week 2 performance will be fresh in owners' minds, but Carolina is quite tough on the position. Temper expectations a good bit, especially because Hakeem Nicks (aggravated foot injury) won't be available to draw attention. Neither will Domenik Hixon (concussion), but Rueben Randle and Ramses Barden are pure leaps of faith for fantasy owners.

With a running game that's a man down and Cruz facing tough competition, Martellus Bennett could be in position to have a nice, TE1-like night. Nicks' absence may complicate that outlook, though, so play it accordingly.

Panthers

Stud QB Cam Newton can hurt a defense in multiple ways. New York just asks to be hurt via the pass incredibly often.

Jonathan Stewart (ankle) isn't a lock to take the field on Thursday night. If he goes, he's a risky flex play, and DeAngelo Williams is far less attractive. DAW looks like a pretty good flex play if J-Stew sits, though.

This is the kind of matchup Steve Smith owners dream about. Oh, and can't forget emerging fantasy star Brandon LaFell, who could outdo his partner in crime against this defense. Even Louis Murphy could get in on the action, for desperate owners.

Greg Olsen isn't a bad play in Week 3, but you wouldn't want to use him as anything more than your flex player. The Giants don't defend the tight end position well; they just defend the wideout position sooo poorly.
