Patriots

Tom Brady had a down week and may struggle against the Ravens Sunday night. He has yet to top 300 yards against this defense and failed to through a touchdown in their AFC Championship Game tilt last season.

Stevan Ridley should find little running room but has become enough of an all-around threat to deserve consideration as a low-end starter. Danny Woodhead could be worth a look in deep PPR leagues.

Wes Welker has really let down fantasy owners so far, and this week probably won't change that. Play him with understanding of this. Brandon Lloyd's drops have hurt his cause, but he is seeing more work with Aaron Hernandez (ankle) on the mend.

Rob Gronkowski will continue to do his thing and could have a monster week against this defense. The Pats added Kellen Winslow this week; avoid him for now.

Ravens

Joe Flacco played superbly last year in the conference title match and deserves to be in your starting lineup in Week 3.

Ray Rice will get his, even if it is a little more difficult this outing.

Anquan Boldin is a PPR consideration, as usual, and Torrey Smith could get on track this week. While risky, Jacoby Jones may be a worthwhile play in deeper formats.

Ed Dickson has limited value, but Dennis Pitta has shined playing out of the slot most of the time. Pitta may be the most rewarding play off all Baltimore pass-catchers this week.

New England Patriots DE Jake Bequette could receive the chance to earn some playing time at defensive end during offseason workouts and training camp.

Patriots | Uncertain about Rob Gronkowski's back injury

Patriots | Sign Josh Boyce

Patriots | Julian Edelman's deal revised

New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman signed a one-year deal earlier in the offseason with a $50,000 roster bonus, but $40,000 of that offseason workout bonus has been converted to a roster bonus for being on the 53-man roster for Week 1, according to a league source. In addition, the financial amounts tied to his receptions incentives have been slightly altered, but the maximum value of the contract remains $1.015 million, the source said.

Ravens latest news and notes

Ravens | Two ERFAs signed

Baltimore Ravens exclusive rights free-agent RB Bobby Rainey and FS Omar Brown have signed their tender offers. Both will receive a one-year deal worth $480,000.

Ravens | Arthur Brown contract details

Updating a previous report, the Baltimore Ravens signed LB Arthur Brown to a four-year, $3.554 million contract.

Ravens | Joe Flacco feels good about pass blocking

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he feels good about having four of the five offensive linemen returning from the super bowl team in 2013. "Yeah, it does," Flacco said when asked if he feels good about the pass blocking with McKinnie back. "I think every year we've been here, we've juggled the offensive line around a pretty good amount. And at some point or another during the middle of the season or come playoff time or all through preseason and at the beginning of the season, we've switched something or just made our starting line. "So, I think the fact that we have a pretty good feel about who is going to be up there is definitely good for me, and the fact that they played so well together last year at the end of the season is definitely a big confidence booster."

Ravens | Joe Flacco praises young wide receivers

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco praised his young wide receiving core of Tandon Doss, Deonte Thompson and David Reed. "I haven't heard too much about all that, but I'm excited about who we have," Flacco said. "I like the idea of having guys that we've had, we've drafted here or we've picked up here, and grooming them and getting those guys to become great wide receivers. They definitely have the talent to do it. I think we just need to get them some reps. And when I say reps, I mean game time reps, so their confidence can take off."

Ravens | Arthur Brown signed

The Baltimore Ravens have signed second-round draft choice LB Arthur Brown. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
