Bengals

Andy Dalton has a tough matchup and should be on your bench this week.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis' outlook isn't bright in Week 1, but he has value as a low-end flex play. He'll see more work with Bernard Scott (hand) out of commission.

A.J. Green should be in your lineup even though the matchup could keep his numbers in check. Brandon Tate and Armon Binns are sketchy fantasy plays, but a big play isn't out of the question for Tate.

Jermaine Gresham (knee) seems to be poised for a breakthrough season, but it may not get off to a good start.

Ravens

Cincy's secondary is banged up, so if you were in a bind, Joe Flacco wouldn't be the worst solution. But in Week 1, there should be little that would prompt you to start him over your QB1.

Ray Rice is usually a no-brainer, even against a potentially strong run D.

Torrey Smith should have a chance to take advantage of the Bengals' injuries, as should Anquan Boldin, to a lesser extent.

Ed Dickson, coming off an injury, isn't a safe play at a deep position.

Bengals | Andre Smith to miss minicamp, to be fined

Cincinnati Bengals OT Andre Smith is will miss minicamp this week, according to head coach Marvin Lewis. "He's dealing with something he's got to get through." According to Joe Danneman of Fox 19 in Cincinnati, Lewis indicated that Smith is absent because of a personal reason not related to his January arrest for gun possession in an Atlanta airport. Smith's absence is also unrelated to his contract or on-field issues, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Lewis stated that the Bengals will find Smith for not showing up. "You have to be fair. There have to be ramifications," the coach said, according to Danneman. Smith can be fined $66,150 if he misses all three days of the mandatory minicamp. He didn't attend any of the team's organized team activities.

Bengals | Andre Smith a no-show for mandatory minicamp

Cincinnati Bengals OT Andre Smith did not report Tuesday, June 11, to mandatory minicamp but has been in contact with the team and should arrive shortly. His absence is related to a personal issue.

Bengals | Adam Jones pleads not guilty

Cincinnati Bengals CB Adam Jones pleaded not guilty to an assault charge stemming from his arrest for allegedly striking a woman on the evening of Wednesday, June 5. On Monday, June 10, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said of the incident to ESPN, "We're aware of it and will review the facts at the appropriate time."

Ravens latest news and notes

Ravens | Happy with Bryant McKinnie's conditioning

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said OT Bryant McKinnie did well during offseason workouts and is happy that McKinnie is working on his conditioning. "Bryant did a really good job," Harbaugh said. "He moved really well in this camp, as well as he moved at the end of the year last year when he started practicing so well and playing so well. He looks healthy, and he will continue to work on his conditioning. He seems to be very committed. Love the way he's playing and his effort."

Ravens | Ray Rice ready to lead

Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice said he's ready to step into a leadership role for the team. "A leadership role is something I definitely don't mind taking upon now, because I was mentored by one of the greatest leaders probably ever to play the game in Ray Lewis," Rice said. "A lot of his leading was by example, and when he spoke, everybody listened because they had that respect for him. So I think being a leader comes with how much respect people have for you. These guys look at the way I work and they understand that my actions are going to show on the field."

Ravens | Three expected to compete for ILB job

Baltimore Ravens LBs Arthur Brown, Daryl Smith and Josh Bynes are expected to compete for one of the starting inside linebacker jobs during training camp.

Ravens | Arthur Brown on schedule

Baltimore Ravens LB Arthur Brown (hernia) said he is on schedule to fully participate once training camp begins. He was able to participate in team drills during minicamp but could not participate in a full practice.

Ravens | Tandon Doss does well during workouts

Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss looked quicker during minicamp than he was last season and appears to be playing with more confidence. He could compete for a starting job if he continues to make plays during training camp.
