Bears

In Week 1, the Jay Cutler-Brandon Marshall connection reminded the fantasy world of its explosiveness, which should emerge even more against a weak Packers defensive backfield that already carries personnel uncertainty. Rookie Alshon Jeffery has another tantalizing opportunity to display his big-play ability and might be on his way to every-week standard-scoring consideration.

Of course, the Bears' front five, one of their biggest concerns, may struggle to deal with Green Bay's often suffocating pass rush at Lambeau Field. Chicago didn't have much trouble last week because the Colts' Dwight Freeney was dinged up.

Though the latter will threaten the former's touchdown production throughout the year, Matt Forte and Michael Bush should put up capable numbers. Forte will have his shots to test the secondary via the air, and the Packers' troubles with tackling in the opener mean both carriers could tack on plenty of yards after contact and catches.

Ignore Chicago's tight end crop until further notice.

Packers

First, a loss in Week 1, now the likely absence of Greg Jennings (groin) for Week 2: At least Green Bay has an abundance of targets to aid Aaron Rodgers. Chicago has given him hints of trouble in the past with their Tampa 2 elements, but Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, a key culprit in giving GB issues over the years, isn't 100 percent. Charles Tillman's leg injury leaves him vulnerable, as well.

With Jennings sidelined, Jordy Nelson may get bottled up more frequently over the top but doesn't deserve fantasy benching. Expect the Cheeseheads to continue deploying Randall Cobb on occasion out of the backfield and involve James Jones a bit more. Donald Driver might see a few more snaps but not enough to recommend adding him to your roster.

Meanwhile, tight end Jermichael Finley was their top target collector Sunday, mostly on dink-and-dunk seeks. Drops remain a concern, but he might have a similar role if Chicago's run D can squash Cedric Benson, whose involvement, as usual, will depend on game pace. Maybe we'll see more of Alex Green, but who cares?

Bears | Henry Melton not worrying about contract

Chicago Bears DT Henry Melton said he is not worrying about his contract situation and will allow the team to decide whether they want to sign him to a long-term contract. "I'm not going to really think too much about it," Melton said. "It's a decision that comes from within and upstairs if they want to keep me long term. We're just kind of talking through some things. Everyone is getting set up and getting the drafted guys done. Hopefully we can sit down and get something done."

Updating a previous report, Chicago Bears OG Gabe Carimi told the team during their April minicamp that he would not be attending the organized team activities and will work out in Arizona.
