The Arizona Cardinals coaches were impressed with how WR Michael Floyd performed during offseason workouts. Floyd could be the starter opposite WR Larry Fitzgerald Week 1.

Cardinals | Bruce Arians backs Rashard Mendenhall

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said on NFL AM that "there's no doubt" RB Rashard Mendenhall would be the featured back if the season started Wednesday, June 19. Arians is shying away from the notion that this is a time share. Mendenhall is also ready to go after fighting Achilles' tendonitis last year following early-2012 knee surgery.

Cardinals | Daryl Washington on thin ice

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said LB Daryl Washington is walking a very thin line right now due to his legal issues. "He's had double incidents and, as an organization, that throws a red flag up," Arians said.

Cardinals | Plenty of depth at LB

Arizona Cardinals LB Lorenzo Alexander is expected to get his chance to start at right outside linebacker, as he tries to unseat LB O'Brien Schofield. LB Jasper Brinkley is viewed as the starting strong inside linebacker, but he'll be challenged by LB Kevin Minter. LB Karlos Dansby is penciled in as a starter for now, but LB Daryl Washington is suspended for the first four games, and it is uncertain where he'll fit in. LB Sam Acho is likely to start at left outside linebacker, but he likely needs to increase his production to remain as the starter.

Cardinals | Jerraud Powers to challenge for starting job

Arizona Cardinals CB Jerraud Powers has an injury history, but he also has a connection to head coach Bruce Arians from their days together with the Indianapolis Colts. Powers is expected to push CB Antoine Cason for the starting cornerback job opposite CB Patrick Peterson.

Minnesota Vikings WR Joe Webb said he has been helping out WR Cordarrelle Patterson during practices with different things. "I've been helping Cordarrelle out a lot, especially with the offense," Webb said. "Keeping him updated on what defenses like to do against certain routes."

Vikings | Chad Greenway expects to be ready for camp

Minnesota Vikings LB Chad Greenway (knee) said he expects to be ready for the start of training camp. Greenway underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last week.

Vikings | Two injured players take part in drills

Minnesota Vikings WR Greg Childs (knees) and LB Michael Mauti (knee) were able to participate individual drills during practice Tuesday, June 18. Neither player has a timetable for their return and could start training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Vikings | Matt Cassel may push Christian Ponder

Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder might be challenged by Matt Cassel for the starting job during the 2013 season.
