No Philadelphia fantasy football freedom for Ronnie Brown – what now?

Best not at his best
Jerome Harrison foiled fantasy football owners' dreams of acquiring a promising backup carrier. His injury issues nixed the trade of Ronnie Brown to the Detroit Lions; Brown remains stuck in fantasy football purgatory behind the Philadelphia Eagles' LeSean McCoy and must rely on an injury to have significant non-handcuff value.

LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene: Too many Jets on the runway
If you own LaDainian Tomlinson, is it in a point-per-reception league? I hope so. That'll keep the New York Jets back's fantasy value at a reasonable altitude in the second half.
You can't say Tomlinson hasn't been consistent carrying the rock in the last three games:
- Week 6 at an injury-marred Denver Broncos club: 16-55-2 (3.4 yards-per-tote average)
- Week 8 vs. Green Bay Packers: 16-54-0 (3.4)
- Week 9 at Detroit Lions: 15-55-0 (3.7)
Luckily, LT caught two, five and six passes, respectively.

Unwrapping Week 8 fantasy football performers
Despite trying to come out of my sugar coma, I want to unwrap some of fantasy football's Week 8 candies. Any tricks?
You might feel the urge to go pick up the Oakland Raiders' Darrius Heyward-Bey at all costs - what with Louis Murphy likely to miss Week 9 and Oakland needing a receiving option other than Zach Miller. Tap your mouse here for more »
Does Dwayne Bowe know increased fantasy football value?
Dwayne Bowe tore up the Houston Texans in Week 6 for 108 yards and two scores on six catches, only a few days after Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley gave Bowe and quarterback Matt Cassel a vote of (no?) confidence. Bowe had come off a nightmare game marred with numerous drops and other mental errors.
Of course, Chris Chambers missed the game, and the Houston Texans' secondary has been a sieve all season. Give me a few steps and I could catch four passes on them.

Fantasy Baseball Drop Zone: Julio Borbon, Texas Rangers
Fantasy Baseball Drop Zone examines the fantasy baseball value of Julio Borbon, the speedy but struggling Texas Rangers outfielder who scuffled hitting leadoff in 2010.
Julio Borbon (Texas Rangers) hasn't rewarded his owners' faith in him building on his stolen base prowess that showed up with him last year (19 steals in 157 MLB at-bats).
Plate discipline is his biggest issue: His 17.5 K percentage isn't terrible, but his 1.6 walk percentage is. Though it's abnormally low, his .213 BABIP checks out - relatively so - since his line-drive percentage is a famished 11.6 percent and his groundball percentage has dropped a bit to 46.5 percent. He has struggled against lefties, too - the team's main concern for him heading into this season as leadoff man. Tap your mouse here for more »

Skipper Mike Scioscia said Napoli's defense is improving but is running with the more defensively centered Mathis for now. Tap your mouse here for more »
