U-turn coming for Ubaldo Jimenez?

Stand up straight, Ubaldo
Ubaldo Jimenez owners haven't had much good news about the righty so far. His sterling effort Tuesday came against a San Francisco Giants team that's hardly a juggernaut, so many might chalk it up to a great matchup.
A simple observation, however, might be the first step toward a recovery.
Adam Dunn and Jose Lopez find new launch pads
Not a bad place for Adam Dunn to wind up, eh? Well, it doesn't really matter where you go when you have that pop, anyway.
He'll have a better surrounding cast with the Chicago White Sox, even if Paul Konerko signs elsewhere. Hello, runs boost. The 31-year-old has stable power indicators and can still take a walk like few others. As long as you can deal with the corrected BA at around .260, buy away. Tap your mouse here for more »
Fantasy Baseball Drop Zone: Dexter Fowler
The latest Fantasy Baseball Drop Zone highlights Colorado Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler. Tim Heaney answers the ultimate question: Drop or Hold?
The Colorado Rockies remain cautious with the development of outfielder Dexter Fowler. Lefty-hitting Seth Smith started Opening Day against tough righty Yovani Gallardo, while Fowler has started the last three games, all against southpaws.
When the handedness evens out, Rox manager Jim Tracy will probably dive back into starting Smith, who has drastic splits in dominance against the majority handedness. Tap your mouse here for more »

Hey, Ian Stewart: Get in line (drives)!

Welcome to the Happy Hour edition of Rounding the Bases. Each week, Tim Heaney takes you around the majors with his spin on fantasy baseball trends, news highlights and player scouting. He welcomes you to join him as he circles the bags at his admirably slow, Prince Fielder-esque pace.
Out of the box
I owned Ian Stewart last season in the K-BAD Expert League, drafting him late mainly as Garrett Atkins insurance. Boy, Geico couldn't match that peace of mind - but there were still problems. Tap your mouse here for more »
Will more taters appear in Garrett Atkins' diet?
Forgive me, but I'm ditching my typical four-base Friday fun. I'm still numb from what happened last night.
I bet many of you felt the same way when you looked at your bench and saw this line: 2-for-4, two homers, three RBIs, two runs scored.
I also will put the house on the fact that you were also shocked when you saw the adjacent name: Garrett Atkins.
He didn't even take me out for Italian beforehand. Tap your mouse here for more »
The Matt Wieters premiere, the Zach Duke redemption and the Ricky Nolasco stretch

Wunderkind Matt Wieters now has to meet the hype. I'm tempering my hopes for him for this season. If you were able to stash him while accounting for the clogged roster spot, bully for you.
If you tucked him away and are lagging behind, well, good night ... and good luck.
Out of the box
In my "Are they for real?" blog Tuesday, I talked about whether or not some fast starters are anomalies. I left out one name that I have been wavering on: Zach Duke. Tap your mouse here for more »

Huston Street pulls a U-turn, returns to ninth inning
Quick-draw Clint Hurdle is at it again. Huston Street has regained the closer role from Manny Corpas - the second Colorado Rockies closer change for an already fluid bullpen.
Street's improvement is credited to a suggestion from pitching coach Bob Apodaca: The righty now sets up from the third-base side of the rubber, which will undoubtedly help his slider hang on for a longer time in the strike zone, making it look more tantalizing before it breaks away or into hitters. Manny Corpas to close for the Colorado Rockies

The Colorado Rockies have handed the closer's job back to Manny Corpas, removing Huston Street from the role he struggled to fill. Tap your mouse here for more »
